Taj Mahal
Agra boasts of this stunning
piece of architecture, called Taj Mahal. No other monument can match the beauty
of the Taj Mahal. Settled among the serene environs of well-laid garden, this
marble structure is simply awe-inspiring. Constructed in 17th
century, it eds the endeavour of Mughal king Shah Jahan. The emperor built this
in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal to immortalize their love. The

Fatehpur Sikri
Constructed during the 16th
century, the city remained as the capital of the Mughal Emperor for around 10
years. The complex of structure and temples all speak volume of its unique
style of architecture. It also encompasses Jama Masjid, which is among the
largest mosques in the country. Following the Mughal architectural style, with
a blend of Indian, Islamic and Persian architecture, the city houses a rocky
ridge. The whole city is established using locally dig red sandstone, which is
also called as ‘Sikri sandstone’.

Ram Bagh
It was one of the earliest
gardens of Mughals. Established in the year 1528, it lies near to north of
Chini-ka-rauza. Originally it was named as Aram Bagh, which means the garden of
rest.
Sikandra
The mausoleum of King
Akbar exemplifies his philosophy. It also presents the finest of Hindu and
Muslim architecture. Sikandara is one of the well kept monuments. The site
serves as the last resting place of the Mughal Emperor Akbar.
Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb
It is the tomb of Mirza Ghyas
Beg who was a Persian and got service in Akbar Court. The Marvel tomb was built
by Emperor Jehangir’s Queen, Noorjahan who made it for his father during
1622-1628 A.D. he architecture at the tomb bespeaks of the Taj Mahal. An inlay
work, called ‘Pietra Dura’ on marble is the feature of the tomb. It remains
open for visitors from sun rise to sun set.
Jama Masjid
Constructed at a great height,
the structure houses a large courtyard where the faithful can gather to pray.
Travellers visiting the Jami Masjid can enter through the majestic gateway of
Buland Darwaza. Inside the complex of the mosque you can find the shrine of
Sheikh Salim Chisti. The lattice marble screens of the tomb are stunning in
their craftsmanship. The tomb was constructed in red sandstone and portion of
the original structure can also be viewed.
